Derrick Rose delivers happiness to customers of Giordano’s with Pizza
Derrick Rose has taken an equity stake in Chicago pizza icon Giordano’s and will serve as its spokesman.
Beginning this month, Derrick Rose will appear in ads and promotions and at charitable event on behalf of the chain, which was acquired late last year by Chicago-based private equity firm Victory Park Capital Advisors LLC, led by Richard Levy.
“I’ve grown up with my family eating Giordano’s pizza,” Derrick Rose said in a press release. “I’ve always loved Giordano’s, so this was a uniquely personal opportunity for me. “I’m working right now on my own signature pizza that we plan to introduce very soon.
Rose visited Giordano’s on Rush Street hours after his involvement with the restaurant franchise had been announced and decided to surprise one table by personally delivering their pizza to them. Once he brought out their order, Rose took a seat at the table — which included an ecstatic young boy, as you can see from the above photo — and ate pizza with the group.
You can expect to see Rose in Giordano’s advertising and promotions year 2012 . He will also introduce his own signature pizza. “I’m actually pretty good in the kitchen,” Rose said in a press release.
